Wanderspy is my travel advisory, and every trip on this site is one I plan and book myself.
I've always been the friend people text before a trip. Where should we stay in Barcelona? Is the Amalfi Coast worth it in August? Do we really need a car in Tuscany? (Yes, you do. And watch out for the ZTL zones, or you'll get a €100 fine in the mail months later.)
At some point the texts turned into a shared note, the note turned into full itineraries, and friends of friends started asking if I'd just book the whole thing for them. Wanderspy is what came out of that: the same advice, done properly, with real booking power behind it.
I travel to eat, walk, and find the place two streets past where everyone else stops. I've kayaked Milford Sound at dawn when the only sound was a waterfall, eaten mofongo three meals in a row in San Juan, and driven the Chiantigiana road between Florence and Siena with mist coming off the vineyards. I've also made the usual mistakes, like trying to drive the Amalfi coast road myself, so you don't have to.
When you work with Wanderspy, you're working with me. Not a team of "curators," not a chatbot. I plan it, I book it, and I'm the one you message when something changes.
I book through an established travel agency that supports independent advisors like me. Here's what that means for you:
At many partner properties, booking through me can add things like daily breakfast, a property credit, or an upgrade when one is available. You usually won't get those booking the same room yourself.
I'm working with hotel and supplier contacts directly, not just a search box.
I have real tools, training, and agency support behind me, so you're not on your own if something comes up mid-trip.
If a place is overrated, I'll say so. Skip Patong. Don't stay overnight on Capri unless budget really isn't a concern. Eat at the bars behind the Boqueria, not in it.
Every hotel and restaurant I suggest is one I've been to or checked out properly. If I haven't, I'll tell you that too.
Some people want a packed list. Some want one plan a day and a long lunch. Both are fine. I'd just rather know up front.
Before, during, and after the trip I reply within one business day (usually sooner). If your ferry to Culebra gets cancelled, you message me and we sort it out.
Tell me where, when, and who's coming. Even if it's just a hunch, I'll come back with honest advice on how to do it well.
